A gorgeous antique “negligee-style” pendant necklace from the early 1900s.
A classic Edwardian design, negligee necklaces feature two asymmetric pendant drops suspended at different lengths.
This stunning example in 15ct yellow gold is suggestive of a light and lacey butterfly.
Here, the drops are each set with a tear-shaped aquamarine, punctuated by dainty seed pearls. The body of the pendant is set with a further two aquamarines and 6 graduated seed pearls, all in a delicately milgrain-edged setting.
Fastening securely with its original pin and barrel clasp, it is in very very good antique condition – it looks magnificent on! A necklace to delight any connoisseur of antique jewellery.
