A spectacular opal dress ring from the early 1900s.
Almost certainly Australian-made with locally mined opal, this magnificent ring is truly one-of-a-kind.
The claw-set opal doublet measures 9mm x 6.5mm. It displays excellent play of colour and looks fabulous from every angle!
Hand-crafted in 9ct rose gold, the ring sports decorative epaulette shoulders with lovely hand engraved foliate detail.
It is in excellent antique condition, the stone is secure in its setting and the band shows no thinning. Micro-abrasions to the surface of the opal (only seen under x10 magnification) are not visible in wear.
This is one of the loveliest antique rings we have come across. It is such a joy to wear – you won’t want to take it off!
