Antique Victorian 9ct Gold, Paste Cluster Ring
AU $0
An exquisite antique English dress ring from the late 19th Century.
Bearing partial Birmingham hallmarks, this gorgeous cluster ring likely dates from the 1880s.
It is claw-set with purple and green faceted paste, flanked by two opalescent cabochons in a cluster formation measuring 10 x 12mm. This colour combination was very popular in the late 1800s and looks so striking in its yellow gold setting, further decorated with a border of delicate golden beadwork tapering to an engraved band.
The ring is in marvellous condition for its age. Minor abrasion to the paste is visible under magnification but not noticeable in wear – it really is rare to find an antique paste-set ring so well preserved!
Currently a small size for petite fingers, it could easily be taken up several sizes by a competent jeweller.
A truly sublime Victorian ring sure to delight lovers of antique jewellery!
