The ring is designed as an exaggerated buttercup setting, beautifully framing a natural smoky quartz of 16x12mm.
Hand-crafted in 9ct yellow gold, this style of setting was hugely popular in the 1970’s. However, the underside of this ring reveals an unusual feature! Delicate engraving work creates contrasting textures on the mount, shoulders and underside of the setting “petals”, giving the ring an almost brutalist look when viewed side on. Such an interesting effect!
